” I was drawn to this company by the opportunity to work with advanced technology that makes a difference – both for the environment and people’s safety”

Software Architect & Team Leader
My journey: Combining technology and purpose
What has kept me here is something even more profound: the feeling that our work has a direct, positive impact on the world. Whether it’s protecting endangered whales or contributing to safer shipping, I can see the tangible results of what we do.
As a Software Architect and Team Leader, my role involves designing the software architecture for our solutions and leading my team in developing systems that enable advanced monitoring and analysis. We create possibilities for airborne monitoring of e.g. oil spills, by combining radar technology, electro-optical sensors, and advanced software analysis. It’s this unique mix of technical innovation and meaningful applications that makes our work truly special.
What I value at ST Airborne Systems
Our focus isn’t just on creating high-tech solutions; it’s about using technology to protect the environment and contribute to sustainable development. What stands out to me is how adaptable and forward-thinking our systems are. We’ve developed modular solutions that can be tailored to a wide range of customer needs, from ice patrols to fire monitoring, well-equipped for the challenging future that lies ahead of our customer’s needs.
We work very closely with our customers to customise systems based on their specific requirements. That partnership ensures our work stays relevant and impactful, and it’s incredibly rewarding for me to know that the systems we develop protect the environment while also improving safety at sea.
The business culture – Openness
Our culture is another reason I love working here. We have a workplace where open discussions are encouraged, and new ideas are always welcomed. Regular forums and meetings give us opportunities to provide feedback and suggest improvements, whether it’s about our solutions or the way we work.
Collaboration is at the core of what we do. Since our projects require us to combine expertise from different areas, we work closely together and share a common understanding of our goals, which creates a strong sense of unity. We also have regular activities that strengthen the team spirit, such as workshops and joint problem-solving exercises.
On a personal level, I have a great deal of freedom to express my opinions in both technical and strategic discussions and make meaningful contributions. My leadership and the team’s structure encourage openness and transparency.
Looking to the future
As I look ahead, I see the company continuing to develop groundbreaking solutions for maritime surveillance, with an even greater focus on environmental protection and sustainability. My role is to ensure that our software solutions remain flexible and innovative to meet these future demands.
Our main challenges include keeping up with rapid technological advancements while balancing costs and environmental requirements. These motivate me to keep pushing boundaries and finding new ways to improve our solutions.
Ultimately, what makes my work here so fulfilling is the combination of technical innovation and purpose. The best part of my job is knowing that we’re contributing to something bigger – protecting the environment and enhancing safety at sea.
That’s a mission I’m proud to be part of.
