MSS 7000 – ST Airborne Systems https://airbornesystems.se We are experts in airborne surveillance Fri, 11 Oct 2024 13:52:50 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=7.0.4 https://airbornesystems.se/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/cropped-Logo-02-32x32.png MSS 7000 – ST Airborne Systems https://airbornesystems.se 32 32 244125334 CANADA UPGRADES ITS SURVEILLANCE MISSION https://airbornesystems.se/canada-upgrades-its-surveillance-mission/ Fri, 11 Oct 2024 13:52:50 +0000 https://airbornesystems.se/?p=24673 In September the first of three upgraded MSS 6000 systems was taken into operation following successful Ground and Flight Acceptance Tests, as well as training of the system operators on the new features. Our engineers will be back in Canada end October to do some additional adjustments as suggested by the operators as well as to conclude the training of Transport Canada’s maintenance crew on the upgraded systems.

Since 2006, Transport Canada has been operating three MSS 6000 systems installed on two Dash 8 aircraft and one Dash 7 aircraft. One more Dash 8 aircraft is currently being prepared for taking a new MSS 7000 system into operation on board. The iconic red planes of Canada’s NASP are a pillar in helping Canada stay safe. The work of the NASP includes preventing pollution in Canadian waters, protecting our marine environment and endangered marine life (amongst others protecting whales), and ensuring a safe and efficient transportation industry along Canada’s massive and varied coastlines. While NASP operations are led by Transport Canada, they represent a larger coordination effort with many partners including federal departments like Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the Canadian Coast Guard, and Environment and Climate Change Canada, as well as provincial governments and private sector partners. For more information on the work of the NASP please click the link.

We are proud to know that our systems keep contributing to the continued success of the National Aerial Surveillance Program.

Season’s Greetings https://airbornesystems.se/seasons-greetings-6/ Tue, 20 Dec 2022 10:43:29 +0000 https://airbornesystems.se/?p=22871 After an intense 2022 the team at ST Airborne Systems is really looking forward to taking some time off over the holidays. Looking back on 2022 we are very happy that the Covid restrictions were lifted so that we could resume visiting our contacts abroad for face-to-face meetings. Video meetings are great but not quite the same. Some of the good meetings we have been able to put into our schedule are visits to India for project meetings and operator training, as well as business meetings in Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Finland, France and the UK. In July we also exhibited at the Farnborough Airshow and in October we had the pleasure of welcoming our Canadian customer to Sweden for evaluation of their new system before delivery. We are also proud to note that the SLAR and IR/UV systems that we have delivered to the Netherlands are now in operation. In 2023 we hope to meet all of you, at the Paris Air Show or at a place of your choice. Our local offices in Delhi and Singapore have made good start and will also be happy to facilitate additional meetings. We shall look forward to hearing from you. In the meantime

We wish you Happy Holidays and send you our best wishes for a successful New Year!

The ST Airborne Systems Team

Review of updated MSS 7000 functions with Transport Canada https://airbornesystems.se/review-of-updated-mss-7000-functions-with-transport-canada/ Tue, 29 Nov 2022 16:54:48 +0000 https://airbornesystems.se/?p=22862 In early November, two officers from Transport Canada’s National Aerial Surveillance Program (NASP) visited our facility to conduct additional lab testing on several system refinements in the MSS 7000 system. This work has been ongoing since the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) last March.

The new MSS 7000 system will be delivered to Canada for installation on board their new Dash 8 aircraft. Once the system has been checked out in-flight, ST Airborne Systems will provide training for operators and maintenance engineers.

Since 2006, Transport Canada has been operating three MSS 6000 systems installed on two Dash 8 aircrafts and one Dash 7 aircraft as part of the NASP. These aircrafts are a pillar in preventing pollution in Canadian waters, protecting the marine environment and endangered marine life, and ensuring a safe and efficient transportation industry along their massive and varied coastlines.

Through the Government of Canada’s Oceans Protection Plan, the fleet of iconic red aircrafts has also worked to survey and determine the position of the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale species in the Gulf of St. Lawrence to help protect them from getting entangled in fishing nets or being hit by ships. The NASP also plays a role in protecting the Southern Resident killer whale in southern British Columbia coastal waters. The new MSS 7000 equipped Dash 8 aircraft is expected to greatly contribute to this task.

FACTORY ACCCEPTANCE TEST WITH TRANSPORT CANADA https://airbornesystems.se/factory-accceptance-test-with-transport-canada/ Thu, 14 Apr 2022 08:43:34 +0000 https://airbornesystems.se/?p=22783 Last week, officers from Transport Canada’s National Aerial Surveillance Program visited Sweden to oversee the Factory Acceptance Test of their new MSS 7000 system.

All the required functions of the MSS 7000 were assessed, and we had the opportunity to get useful input from Transport Canada’s experienced operators on how they use our systems. This type of exchange of information is invaluable for us and is how our systems have developed over the years. The result is the user-friendly, state-of-the-art system which we are able to offer today, and we will continue to improve and adapt our systems based on the current and future needs of our customers.

Since 2006, Transport Canada has operated the MSS 6000 system on board their Dash 7 and Dash 8 aircrafts. Later this year, the new MSS 7000 will be installed on the Transport Canada’s third Dash 8 aircraft, which is currently undergoing modifications to prepare for installation of the new system.

CDR with Transport Canada https://airbornesystems.se/cdr-with-transport-canada/ Fri, 08 Oct 2021 15:14:34 +0000 https://airbornesystems.se/?p=22685 In the last few days, we have performed a CDR with Transport Canada for the new MSS 7000 system they have ordered (see earlier news item). The system is slowly taking shape in our lab despite Covid 19 related delivery delays and we are looking forward to hosting a Factory Acceptance Test in early 2022. We thank everyone involved in this effort for their continued engagement and hard work.

We welcome our new colleagues! https://airbornesystems.se/we-welcome-our-new-colleagues/ Fri, 17 Sep 2021 09:30:27 +0000 https://airbornesystems.se/?p=22672 A group of new colleagues have joined us recently. An excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the operational installation of the MSS 7000 system presented itself when the Estonian Police and Border Guard visited the Bromma Air Maintenance for maintenance and we took the opportunity to also perform annual maintenance of the MSS 7000 airborne ISR system.

After completed work, the aircraft is now back at its base in Tallinn.

Our best wishes for the New Year! https://airbornesystems.se/our-best-wishes-for-the-new-year/ Fri, 18 Dec 2020 16:36:25 +0000 https://airbornesystems.se/?p=22593 We are now in the times of Advent and Christmas holidays and it is time summarize 2020 and look forward to 2021.

The past year has indeed been different with very limited physical meetings. And it seems this situation will stay with us for some time to come. So while we look forward to a time when we can meet in person again, we soldier on, probably just as you do, working hard to realize new opportunities. We have entered some new business projects that will allow us to continue to develop and refine our MSS 7000 system to meet new requirements. So please contact us to see if we can assist you in meeting yours.

As you know the MSS 7000 is already a truly scalable system which allows us to offer cost effective solutions for small or large rotary and fixed wing applications everything from environmental surveillance, search and rescue to border control. Through our cooperation with Bromma Air Maintenance (BAM) we can take on turnkey projects including surveillance systems and special mission aircraft for a variety of uses.

Please note that our office will be closed from 23rd December to 3rd January, but we will be most happy to hear from you before during or after the holidays.

We send you our very best wishes for the Season. We hope you can enjoy the holidays in the circle of close family and friends and come back with new enthusiasm in the new year. Keep safe!

New solutions https://airbornesystems.se/new-solutions/ Tue, 28 Apr 2020 07:48:49 +0000 https://airbornesystems.se/?p=22570 We are living in strange times. We had become very used to being able to travel and to meet in person to discuss what is new in the business and what new projects we may be able to assist you with, and now this is suddenly not possible.

Still, we want to stay in touch, and if you now have the time to oversee your airborne surveillance needs, we will be here to support you.

If you need information or would like to discuss your requirements, please call or e-mail us and we will be happy to explore the possibility to meet virtually, and to make sure you can get the information you need.  We invite you to take advantage of our more than 40 years of experience in this field!

Another opportunity to meet in cyberspace will be the Maritime Search and Rescue conference in Tallinn on 13-14th May which has now been converted to a virtual event.  We still plan to be present (virtually), both to exhibit and to give a presentation. So please come and join us.  You will find more information about the event here, and you can register here.  Please also note that Coastguards, First Response, Ship Operators and Government Agencies can now register free of charge.

In the meantime, please rest assured we are continuing our work to improve our airborne maritime surveillance system, taking into account the viewpoints of our system operators all over the world, as well as incorporating the latest technology.  Our MSS 7000 – Airborne ISR Multi-Mission Management System – we believe may be the most cost-effective solution in existence for meeting your specific surveillance needs. Please read more on our website  and in our brochure and let us know if you need further information. As we said, we will be happy to set up a call or an online meeting at this time and hope we will be able to meet in person again before too long.

Until then, please take care and stay healthy!

Best wishes

from your ST Airborne Systems Team

We are still open…… https://airbornesystems.se/we-are-still-open/ Tue, 31 Mar 2020 10:58:56 +0000 https://airbornesystems.se/?p=22555 although the Covid19 is affecting us all we keep our business running. We keep working to improve the MSS 7000 – we believe it is one of the best surveillance systems on the market and we hope you will contact us to find out how it can fulfil your surveillance needs.

Although we have many restrictions and face unprecedented challenges at this time we do believe there is light at the end of the tunnel. We will not see you at Farnborough this year, as the organisers have just cancelled it, but we hope to keep in touch by other means.

In the meantime, we happily note that spring is about to arrive in Sweden.

Please take care of yourselves and your families and do your best to keep safe and healthy!
